Live Longer. Eat Hot Sauce.

Aside from capsaicin (the stuff that puts the hot in hot sauce) being shown to relieve pain, reduce inflammation, boost your immune system, and increase your metabolic rate, hot sauce feels adventurous. The peppers we've chosen to use in Neck Dart Hot Sauce are habaneros, and they are packed with capsaicin. Containing between 9 and 59 mg per gram of pepper, you're able to get a healthy dose of this wonderful compound in less than half a gram of chili.

In everyday terms, that means habaneros are really hot.

A beautiful thing happens when you ferment habaneros in harmony with other tropical ingredients: massive amounts of flavor. All our sauces have an incredible finish and great complexity. The biggest surprise after making the first batches was how much Umami the sauces contain. So, not only are fermented hot sauces healthy with an added kick of dopamine from overcoming the heat-rush, they are complex, flavorful, and an excellent way to lift the flavors of entire meals.

Neck Dart is incredibly versatile, too.

Let's talk health benefits of hot sauce.

1. It can reduce the risk of developing Type 2 Diabetes

This study done in India, the researchers found that eating a meal containing capsaicin lowered post-meal blood glucose and insulin concentrations. High levels of glucose and insulin are linked to an increased risk for the development of diabetes. The study also revealed eating capsaicin helps reduce the oxidation of LDL-cholesterol, and therefore reduces the chance of plaque formation in the arteries.  Eat hot sauce!

2. It's filled with antioxidants and vitamins

3. It can actually reduce your pain.  Really.

endorphins

Endorphins literally bind to our opiate receptors in our nerves to help us block pain perception.  Neck Dart Hot Sauce is full of endorphins. One of my favorite things about hot sauce testimonials comes from former opioid addicts, who have found a much healthier addiction in eating spicy food. Here's to hoping this gets more research.  Want to collaborate on this?  We'll supply the sauce for your research.

4. Hot Sauce reduces inflammation and aids digestion

happy

This Harvard study shows the benefits of eating fermented foods, and, capsaicin stimulates your stomach in ways that aid digestion.

5. Hot Sauce can help you live longer and ward off some cancers.  Seriously!

Cedars sinai

Research done by Cedars-Sinai Medical Center found that capsaicin actually slows the growth of cancer cells. The British Medical Journal published a study showing consumption of spicy foods resulted in a 14% relative risk reduction in total mortality for people eating spicy food 6-7 days a week compared to those who don't. Conclusion: eat more hot sauce. We're happy to be your supplier.
